  Sweet Enough Already

  Although I have only been off the soft drink, lollies and chocolate for a few days, I feel like I am less anxious already. I still have moments where specific things set me off. In the past, I often went of into a state where I feel like I cannot shake the anxiety. In the past few days, it comes and goes quickly, without taking hold of how I feel.

  I could, of course, have just had a few pretty comfortable days. Either way, I am planning on stick at this for six week, so I am sure that I’ll have more to say down the track.

  You have a talent for writing, and this really spoke to me. I have so many harboured (well, I guess, out in the open, sometimes) feelings of ill will toward the Catholic church. I try not to blame “Catholics in general,” like you, but when the Catholics in my own family turn on me when I figure out I’m gay because they believe the church to be infallible, it really gets me going. As you know, growing up in Ireland, being Catholic is not just a religion, it’s a way of life. It consumes everything. I feel so disconnected from my family because I do not embrace their messed up (IMO) religion anymore. It is difficult to go to funerals and weddings where there is a mass when you have these disconnected feelings.

  Anyway, I’m really sorry for the losses you’ve had to endure this week. I hope you get through feeling sad, and I know that you and K will make beautiful brides someday.

  what a beautifully written post.
  Marriage definitely gives gravity to relationships in a way nothing else does.
  I was raised catholic too and, at funerals, have found myself mouthing all the words the priests say. mass is a deeply ingrained ceremony in my head.

  I hope your sorrow lifts soon. I hope you write more about it.

  I have arrived home from my shift at work to find unexpectedly good results on behalf of Royal Mail!
  
  First Class letters posted = 5 (17/11/09)
  First Class letters received = 5 (18/11/09)
  
  I posted 5 more letters today, this time including three typed addresses in window box envelopes.
  
  LB seems to think I should mix things up a bit, and post from a different part of town. To ensure they are indeed going through all the channels a letter from, say, THE HOSPITAL might go through, I am going to take up this suggestion. We are in a different part of town tonight, so it's a good opportunity to achieve this variable.
