Tomorrow is both Australia Day, a public holiday, and the last day of my lengthy summer holidays. For the longest time this year, these holidays felt really long. Not long in an insufferable way. More like an endless summer of taking it easy with Nicky, the kids, and with friends. It’s been really nice.
Then, all of a sudden it seems, it is over. This is fine. I think being back at work and busy will do me good. I am not a new teacher any more, and I need to focus my attentions on doing this job as well as I can. It might not the absolutely the most important job on the planet, but it deserves my full work-life attention.
Lesson for the day – the end gets here in its own time.
