He’s still hanging in there, and she had a really good talk with him yesterday. She’s back in Melbourne now, and we are all looking after her in different ways. I think that’s the up-side of traumatic experiences – they can strengthen bonds.
As you are someone who’s been through something similar, I am sure you’ll be of great assistance and comfort to her.
And, from what I remember, you did get to say goodbye to your mum. It’s just a great shame that she was unconscious at the time. That was going to be incredibly tough whichever way it went.
That really sucks. I would have hoped that losing your mum would have brought your family together. It looked like that for a while. I can say without fear of contradiction that he is worse off for lack of contact with you. And I suspect you just might be better of without him for a while.
